| Orangerie Dalkeith Country Park |
| |
Monday 21st January 2019. The Orangerie within Dalkeith Country Park has been restored and undergone conversion. It was built in about 1832 to a design by William Burn to grow exotic fruit for the Duke of Buccleuch at Dalkeith House. It featured an under-floor conderser heating system and the boiler was said to have consumed up to a ton of coal a day.
Here are three images I captured by night. See also visit on 19th August 2021 |
